What Does The Bible Say About Mediums? Find Out Now!
In this article, I will share with you what the Bible says about mediums, but I will also share my own experience. In other occasions, I've talked about my testimony, and how my mother was tormented and possessed by demonic forces for over 15 years. In other words, my mother was a medium. During that time, I saw her getting possessed by demons as often as 2 to 3 times a month, and in this horrible ordeal, we met a native Indian medium that became very good friends with my mother, but before I share this quick testimony with you, let’s take a look at some Bible verses about mediums.
When they say to you, "Consult the mediums and the spiritists who whisper and mutter," should not a people consult their God? Should they consult the dead on behalf of the living? To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, it is because they have no dawn.
"There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices witchcraft, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, or one who casts a spell, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. "For whoever does these things is detestable to the LORD; and because of these detestable things the LORD your God will drive them out before you.
He made his sons pass through the fire in the valley of Ben-hinnom; and he practiced witchcraft, used divination, practiced sorcery and dealt with mediums and spiritists. He did much evil in the sight of the LORD, provoking Him to anger.
"Then the spirit of the Egyptians will be demoralized within them; and I will confound their strategy so that they will resort to idols and ghosts of the dead And to mediums and spiritists.
Moreover, Josiah removed the mediums and the spiritists and the teraphim and the idols and all the abominations that were seen in the land of Judah and in Jerusalem, that he might confirm the words of the law which were written in the book that Hilkiah the priest found in the house of the LORD.
"But as for you, do not listen to your prophets, your diviners, your dreamers, your soothsayers or your sorcerers who speak to you, saying, 'You will not serve the king of Babylon.'
So Saul died for his trespass which he committed against the LORD, because of the word of the LORD which he did not keep; and also because he asked counsel of a medium, making inquiry of it,
He made his son pass through the fire, practiced witchcraft and used divination, and dealt with mediums and spiritists. He did much evil in the sight of the LORD provoking Him to anger.
'Do not turn to mediums or spiritists; do not seek them out to be defiled by them. I am the LORD your God.
'As for the person who turns to mediums and to spiritists, to play the harlot after them, I will also set My face against that person and will cut him off from among his people.
ABOUT THE NATIVE INDIAN MEDIUM
About a week after my mother got possessed by the spirits for the first time, we were all at home because it was a Sunday. She put on a Tango record and sat on the couch to listen to it, and then it happened again. She began to stare at the wall without blinking, and the tears started to come out. By now, we already knew about her situation, so we gathered around her and waited to see who was going to come up. Again, she began to shake her left leg, and she complained of the pain.
We asked her who she was, and she said, “I am Tony.” It was the spirit of my grandfather (As we thought at the time.) He cried and cried, saying that he couldn’t rest in peace. We asked him many questions that day, although, I don’t recall exactly what the questions were. As we talked to him, he made a gesture with his hand for us to be quiet, and then he bowed his head (My mother’s head) and went into a trance again. She came back a few minutes later, but with a different personality.
This time it was a disturbed spirit. He didn’t give us his name, but he began to curse. He didn’t stay for long and left cursing as he bowed his head. Another spirit came and cried with deep sorrow. We asked him some questions, but he wouldn’t talk, and then left my mother’s body crying.
That day, around 7 spirits came and left doing the same procedure, bowing my mother’s head, going into a trance-like state, and staying silent for a minute until her head was lifted. Then, she would open her eyes and began to talk, cry, or curse; depending on the spirit that possessed her at that moment.
The days went by, and she got possessed twice or three times a month. Sometimes it would just happen spontaneously, but as time went on, we found out that touching money, or listening to Tango, triggered the demonic possessions; especially when she heard that song: Volver, by Carlos Gardel. Up until today, every time that I listen to this song, my heart trembles inside of me; not out of fear, but because of what it represented in my childhood.
Trying to seek help, my mother contacted a professional medium. She was a native Indian girl. She had long black hair and was kind of short in stature. The first time that we visited her, she took us to a room that she used as her sanctuary, and we sat at a round table. Right in the middle of the room, there was a symbol painted on the floor, which resembled the Star of David, but with evil symbols around it.
She told us to remain seated because she was going to invoke the spirits. Then, she picked up her hair in a ponytail, and sat right in the middle of the star; she closed her eyes and began to meditate. Within a few minutes, she went into a trance. With an abrupt movement, she started swaying her head, and her ponytail began to turn and turn, circling the star. Her hair was so long that her ponytail almost covered the entire star.
After a few minutes, she lifted her arms and invoked a spirit by his name. I don’t recall what the name was because it was a strange name, but slowly, she began to get possessed by that spirit, and she was no longer herself. The spirit that took control of her body was a dominant spirit. He told us to get closer to him, but not to touch him. He told my mother to sit on the floor in front of him, and he sprinkled her with some kind of aromatic oil.

He told her that she was chosen by the spirits because she had a pure heart and that she had to let go and let herself be used because this was going to bring her good fortune. When the spirit left the native Indian girl, she sat with my mother at the table, and they talked for a long time. She told my mother that she would guide her, and told her not to fight this force because that could be very dangerous.
As the days went by, the native Indian girl and my mother became good friends. We used to visit her regularly, and she gave my mother advice on what to do with the spirits. She told my mother that this was something that was going to stay with her for a lifetime, so she advised her not to fight it. My mother bought candles, incense, and other items from the Indian girl. From that point on, my house began to smell like incense and spices, and there was always a candle lit up in her bedroom.
THE DAY THE DEMONS MOVED INTO THE HOUSE
As we continued living a normal life on the outside, my mother kept visiting her Indian friend. The days went by, and she got possessed regularly. Once she realized that touching money and listening to Tango songs triggered the possessions, she tried to avoid those things, but it was impossible because Tango was popular in those days, and being a businesswoman, she had to be in contact with money all the time.
This didn’t happen every time that she came in contact with money or Tango, but it was most likely to happen when she did. I still don’t understand why this happened, but I have strong reasons to believe that this had a connection with my grandfather. Not that his spirit was the one that manifested in my mother’s body, but he might have exposed her to witchcraft when he was still alive. It was my grandfather who introduced her to Tango, and as far as I understand, he used to practice witchcraft.
No matter where she was, she got possessed by the demons, and we always had to be ready to bring her back to the house. She tried not to go in public places, and she couldn’t go to parties nor to family reunions. Every time she got possessed by the demonic forces, we gathered around her at the dining table, or in the living room.
But apparently, the house got too small for the spirits. We had an empty room at home. It was next to my bedroom, so one day, my mother had everything taken out of that room. She decided to put a table there, and some chairs as well. As time went on, she began lighting up candles and burning incense in that room. Little by little, she gave into the spirit’s desires.
One day, she brought a carpenter home. He measured the back wall of the room, and by the end of that day, he had built a 3 step altar for my mother. She covered the altar with pure white sheets and decorated it with flowers and pictures of “saints.” She also bought a lot of candles and had the light bulb removed. She covered the windows with dark curtains, so the light wouldn’t enter, and placed a round table in the center of the room.
When it was all done, I entered the room, and my heart began to beat rapidly. The room was dark, and the mystical smell of incense penetrated my lungs. My mother decorated the walls with images that later I learned to share my house with. She spent many hours locked in that room, and it became a sanctuary for her. The days that she got possessed, we gathered around the table in the sanctuary, and we spend hours there with the spirits.

At some point, my father began to believe, and he got together with us. The spirits came one after the other, each with a different personality. Many of them were friendly, and some seemed disturbed, but up to that point, none of them were aggressive, so we felt comfortable with them. Over the years, the sanctuary became the demons dwelling place, and my mother gained more experience as a medium.
That was just the beginning of 15 long years of demonic possessions, but for the grace of the Lord, my mother has been delivered for good. I pray that this information was helpful to you and that now you understand that these things happen in our present time, but you have also learned what the Bible says about mediums, and now that you know, what do you think about it?
